The Marketing & Communications Department (M&C) applies leading-edge marketing and communications instruments to ensure optimal connections between the university and its different target groups. As our marketing communications team member, you will play a key role in promoting and delivering on the University of Twente’s mission. Your primary focus will be on prospective Dutch and international students for the Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes. The focus for the years ahead will be on expanding the number of Dutch and international students who join our Master’s programmes. Challenge-based learning and an international learning environment are important pillars of Master’s-level education at the University of Twente.

What will your role be?

  • As an enthusiastic, creative and results-oriented team member with extensive campaign experience, you will be able to put the University of Twente on the map in a strategic and systematic manner. Together with our strategic marketing advisor, you will be able to get the most out of our campaigns by ensuring coherence and developing smart combinations. Effectiveness, return on investment and data-driven working methods are all second nature to you. You are familiar with all the touchpoints in the customer journey, you are aware of the latest developments in the field of (social) media, and you know how to reach domestic and international target groups through a targeted media mix with a strong online component (SEA/SEO, email marketing). You have an affinity with the target group and you are able to empathise with the needs of prospective students.

Your day-to-day work will consist of:

  • Converting student recruitment strategies into briefings and effective campaigns.
  • Contributing to the implementation of these campaigns.
  • Close collaboration with our external marketing and communications consultancy.
  • Advising internal clients on online and offline media deployment.
  • Monitoring media purchasing and planning.

Profile

Who are you?

  • You have relevant education in the field of marketing and communication at HBO level.
  • You have experience in the logistical and financial aspects of campaigns, preferably on both the organisational side and the agency side.
  • You have experience in developing and evaluating campaign concepts and messaging yourself. Experience on the agency side is an advantage.
  • You have demonstrable experience in using SEA/SEO/email marketing and you are able to interpret the associated analytics data.
  • You have demonstrable experience in project management, preferably in the media.
  • You have strong communication skills, both spoken and written, and in both Dutch and English.
  • You are hands-on and eager, you have guts and your creativity knows no bounds.
  • You are able to take a helicopter view and have a keen eye for results and effectiveness, in relation to both content and finances.
  • You have an affinity with – and preferably experience of – the (international) target group and the education sector.
  • You have an international perspective.

We offer you a challenging role with plenty of opportunities for training and personal development. The contract is for a period of one year, with potential contract renewal thereafter. The gross monthly salary based on full-time employment ranges from € 2,920,=  to € 4.412,=. This is in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities, and based on the university job profile Communications Officer 1.
