Organisation

The Human Resources service department plays a proactive and facilitating role at University of Twente, supporting the Executive Board, faculties, institutes and service departments. HR contributes to the optimisation of the entire professional field of human resources. Its top priorities include the further development and implementation of a wide-ranging, modern set of HR instruments (including digital tools).
In the years ahead, HR will also focus on themes such as the university's new Shaping 2030 strategy, recruitment, well-being, talent (including the new strategic orientation on recognition and appreciation in academic education and research), and continuously upgrading our ‘HR basics'. The tasks belonging to HR are carried out by its Advice, Policy and Services departments.

The University of Twente is looking for a Policy Advisor  who can make an impact in the focus area of inclusion. We are looking for someone who knows how to effectuate change and get things moving. You are a strategic connector, thinker and doer. You know how to make diversity and inclusion tangible and manageable and how to get stakeholders on board. You are an experienced discussion partner with stakeholders at all levels. You communicate clearly and convincingly.

Your responsibilities

  • You deal with strategic themes, including integrity, diversity, social safety and participation jobs.
  • You take stock of the wishes and needs of stakeholders both inside and outside the organisation and you pro-actively provide advice.
  • You translate these themes into HR policy and practice for the University of Twente.
  • You give practical shape and substance to initiatives within the broader concept of inclusion.
  • You initiate and participate in various internal and external project groups, networks and partnerships.
  • You prepare dossiers for decision-making by the Executive Board and the Deans.
  • You work closely with the D&I officer and you are a member of the inclusion expert group.

  • You have robust advisory capabilities and you are highly analytical.

  • You are analytical, you see connections and can place things in a larger whole, both in your profession and in the university sector.
  • You are a connector who forges and maintains good and lasting relationships with various stakeholders at the university.

Inspirational

 

  • You are persuasive, you have the ability to develop and initiate strategic policy, you know how to influence others and you can translate policy into practical action with an open attitude and transparency.
  • You have what it takes to think outside the box to the benefit of the university and you are able to forge connections.

 

Education and experience

You are a university graduate with 3 to 5 years of policy experience and affinity with the theme of diversity and inclusion. You have experience as a project leader within a large organisation in the area of inclusion. You understand change processes. In addition, experience and affinity with project-based work (Agile/Lean) is a plus. You have excellent interpersonal skills and strong oral communication skills in Dutch, as well as strong oral and written communication skills in English (level C1).

We offer

The appointment will be for 2 years, 38 hours per week. Depending on qualifications and experience, your gross monthly salary will be a maximum of €5,127,-- based on full-time employment.
